“Fill a Public Works Truck” Food Drive Takes Place May 20-26 at Fairfield Public Schools

Fairfield’s Department of Public Works is celebrating National Public Works Week, May 20-26, by hosting a “Fill a Public Works Truck” food drive to benefit Operation Hope’s Food Pantry and the Connecticut Food Bank. Look for the Public Works orange “Trucks” in the main entrance of all Fairfield Public Schools, including McKinley School.

Please consider donating any of these items the week of May 20-26 at not only McKinley School but both library branches, Sullivan-Independence Hall, Old Town Hall, the Police Department, the Senior Center and the Recreation Center:

  • Canned fruit / dried fruit
  • Apple sauce / canned peaches / canned fruit cocktail
  • Canned soups / stews/ chowders
  • Peanut butter / jelly / jam
  • Canned meat / chicken / tuna / fish
  • Shelf stable milk
  • Juice boxes
  • Granola bars
  • Ground coffee / herbal tea
