While in many ways it feels like we just got rolling, it is already time to start thinking about next year!
Registration – If your girl participated this year (or if she didn’t and really wants to find a way to do it next year!), then consider taking advantage of EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION. Register before June 12 to receive a discount. Regular registration for girls is $40, but you can save $5 if you register early – you only pay $35 before June 12. Also, Girl Scouts of CT CEO Mary Barneby and COO Margaret Hansen-Kaplan have agreed to turn their hair GREEN if 10,000 girls renew their membership during Early Bird Registration May 1-June 12.
- Register your daughter(s) by clicking on https://portal.gsofct.org/IMIS/GSWCM/Non_Member/NM_options.aspx. Click ‘create an account’ (or log in) and fill in the information for your daughter. It will ask for email address and user name/password so remember to write these down. Registration fees are $40 (part of it goes to Girl Scouts of CT and part of it goes to Girl Scouts National). These are paid at the end of registration on-line. This registration fee is annual (running on an academic year calendar).
- You can also call or email Customer Care at 1-800-922-2770 x500 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that Customer Care is open until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays to better help you!
- As with this year, there will be Troop Dues on top of the registration fee (to finance supplies and badges for the girls), but we will work to keep that as small as possible – amount to be determined.
Volunteers – Our girls are so much fun to work with, so think about if you would be willing to help out. This year we were so lucky to have a number of people volunteer to be Troop Leaders and Assistant Troop Leaders; if you are willing to help in that capacity please let us know. Also next year we will need a Cookie Sale Leader to help us get organized for this wonderful (and Tasty) fundraiser. Last but not least, so far we have focused mostly on events during troop meetings, but there are a ton of wonderful events that happen on weekends that our girls could participate in (Movie Nights, Mother-Daughter overnights at Camp Aspetuck, GS day at the Zoo, Science and Engineering Events, Audubon Society Events and much more). We could use Volunteers to help organize troop participation at these events, so if you are able to find some time to share with our girls let us know your interests and hobbies and we can find an event to share with the girls.
We are so excited for more Girl Scout fun in the coming year. We hope you can join in!
All the Best,
