Support McKinley’s “One Box, One Family” Drive for a Zimbabwe School

For the past few years, the McKinley School Student Council has led our school community in providing significant support to a school in Zimbabwe.  Our donations are made to the school through the United States / African Children’s Fellowship Fund (USACF).  This organization links approximately 100 schools in the tri-state area with 100 schools in Tanzania and Zimbabwe.  The USACF provides the shipping and delivery of the materials that we collect.

The Student Council would like to encourage McKinley families to donate new or gently used clothes, school supplies, art supplies, toys, books or soccer equipment to our sister school. Last year, families were encouraged to send in one box per family. Boxes ranged from shoe boxes to cartons. We nearly filled an entire truck with our donations!  They were greatly appreciated by the students in Zimbabwe.

This year, the “One Box, One Family” drive will take place during the month of January. If you wish to make a contribution, please mark our family’s box “Zimbabwe” and deliver it to the school lobby.  Thank you!
